I don't normally get to go to a Walgreens and now that I've moved I will probably add Riteaid to that list. I will miss the free after rebate items. Oh well! Those are the breaks.

Today, I agreed to provide child care for a coworker from 12-5:30pm for a 5 and 8 yr old. This put me in the area of the Riteaid, Walgreens and the Mall.

Riteaid - Pantene Shampoo $3.00 - 1.50mfq - 1.50 RA rebate= FAR (tax was .16) and a raincheck for spray sunscreen for kids 45spf BOGO (eventually that too will be FAR)

Walgreens out of product and register rewards won't print out next week so I am out of luck.

Mall:

Borders - 2 books @ 6.99ea with a coupon for 30% of list price of one item if you spend $10. Well, the bill came to $5.19. I thought it must be because I finally got some Border rewards or something. No, 15mins drive later I look at the receipt and realize he only charged me for one book and the cash register still took the 30% off coupon. Oops!

Remember When - A beloved coworker is moving to Florida. So I wanted to give her a keepsake. We are always smiling about people who live in a snowglobe, their own little world. LOL. So, when I saw a snowglobe that had inside of it in large blue letters the word "FRIENDS" I thought thats it, the perfect remembrance gift. Even on the sale, it cost $47 with tax and engraving. Engraving was almost as much as the gift. It was more than I budgeted but so perfect and I did save in other areas today so I can live with the extra expense. See, I can rationalize with the best of them.

Gas - I drove by stations that cost 3.98 and finally drove by one that cost 3.89. Yeah! It was cash only and that was why they charge .06 less than the closest cost other stations. Makes you wonder about the true cost of a cashless, debit/credit society.
